Curfews can help children or hurt them. From begining to end in The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton is about two social classes that are battling over land and power. The main group, Greasers are always getting in trouble and are poor. Throughout the artical “Are Public Curfews Fair” two people who think getting curfews in communitys are nessasry and unnessisary are arguing over whos statement is better. In awarness to people thinking that there should not be a curfew in the outsiders community, Parents and Police think differnently. In many cases teens are motivated to commit crimes, but in others they dont have much of a choice. Some indevisuals belive that curfews wont stop teens from violating the law. "Yeah." His voice quavered slightly. "I had to. They were drowning you, Pony. They might have killed you. And they had a blade... they were gonna beat me up....” In this case the curfew would have stopped the crime from even starting. All of the children would have been taken home by police so no one would have been hurt. “From 1995 to 1999, the number of minors arrested for violent crimes dropped 23%. “Its up to parents to choose a curfew.” Annually, some parents dont know when to make their childs curfew. They want to limit their kids time in the outside world, but dont want to limit them to much. Once a child hits the teen years they think their parents ae cluless and can not help them anymore. “Were you, Ponyboy?"--- his voice was rising--- "Where in the almighty universe were you?"
