Hungarian culture is very diverse with architecture, music and dance. The architecture is shown throughout Hungary in villages and cities. Along with the Hungarian architecture old folk traditions are still shown throughout Hungary today. Old traditions and celebrations such as the annual harvest and the creation of the Hungarian State are still observed today. The annual harvest festival is celebrated with traditional food and music. Music started out as being written in the nineteenth century and used in hotels and restaurants. This music was called gypsy music and lead to a misunderstanding of what it is. For example at one point in the dance the men move up to the front and perform a section of the dance while the women stand in the back and step side to side performing very direct movements. They also perform very direct movements when they are dance together. When the women dance together the movement is very direct because they will jump out and kick their leg to the side and looking to where the leg is going.The women also move forward and back on a sagittal plane and have very quick movements with their feet. When they are dancing as a couple the woman will circle around the man and perform very light movements while the man is performing strong movements such as jumping and slapping his boot or kicking. When the men perform the Czardas they move in the vertical dimension to perform very strong movements such as jumping and kicking. When performing alone in a group or in a couple the men will jump up and slap their boot or kick their leg and jump producing a very strong movement. When the dancers perform as a whole group they move around each other in a round. They also perform steps in a circle that are performed on a sagittal dimension and are done very quickly and sustained. The dancers jump up very quickly but also sustain their foot in the air before putting it down. The dancers perform a variety of movements during the dance but they mostly perform very quick and sustained movements along with direct and strong
