In the article Propaganda: How Not to Be Bamboozled by D.W. Cross describes different ways in which propaganda can be used. There are fourteen ways that propaganda can be used. The author explains how propaganda can be used in good ways or bad ways, but most people get the perception that propaganda is always considered a bad thing. As it manipulates many people to do things, but propaganda is just an act of persuasion that seems appealing to the person. Propaganda can easily convince someone to do things even if it is considered a bad thing. The article explains how people can easily get manipulated into things. For instance, the one promoting propaganda might resort to name calling in order for a policy to seem appealing to us and not question anything he said. Name calling can be used against many things such as policies, beliefs, ideals and even an entire population. An example when name calling has been in use is when republican presidential candidate stated that many Mexicans are “rapists” and “criminals.” His statements attracted many voters who think the same way as he does, which has convinced them to vote for him in every primary elections.
