James, the author of Daisy Miller, shows, the game Daisy plays creates sticky situations as well as troublesome sprees. The game implies a complicated way for a girl to get the guy to ask her out without telling him to ask her out. Daisy flirts with Winterbourne the next few days in Vevey until Winterbourne ruins their last day together saying the most stupid thing. "It is a melancholy fact that I shall have to return to Geneva to-morrow," (James 29) Winterbourne inconsiderately informed Daisy, in Chillon Castle. Because girls can see anything guys try to get by us, the girls catch them in the middle of the act. However, Daisy knew; he was going to see another lady. Daisy met another man in Rome to get back at Winterbourne. Now the game not only happened in 1878, but it also happens in 2015. For example, recently a classmate began to flirt with two different MUS boys to get one boys attention by playing hard to get. It didn't end well for the girl because the boys already started become interested in someone else. This scandalous fling cause's way too much drama for Mrs. Miller to join, so she watches it play out from the sideline, observing the flirt's outcome without associating.
