Scrooge essay “Darkness is cheap and Scrooge is like it,” - Charles Dickens. In the play, the Christmas carol written by Charles Dickens. Scrooge is angry and miserable, but three ghosts visit him and change him for the better. At the beginning of the play, Scrooge is angry and miserable and dislikes Christmas. Near the middle of the play, Scrooge sees himself and a grouch. At the end of the play, he knows what he has done and changes wale making amends with the people he knows. To summarize Scrooge is a grumpy old man that gets visited by three ghosts and changes for the better. Scrooge is a grumpy, cheap old man, that hates Christmas and anyone who likes it.

Scrooge dislikes Christmas, anytime anyone says merry Christmas he says bah humbug and goes back to work. For instance, when Fred his nephew come into his counting house and invites him for Christmas dinner he said bah humbug and waved him goodbye. Scrooge hats giving his money away as an illustration in the play that we watched two people came to ask for money and he said no and to leave. Scrooge is a very cheap man, one example of this is that he had a girlfriend that wanted to marry him but he loved money more than her. To conclude Scrooge is very cheap and dislikes Christmas.
