This was the roughest time of his life, but he made it through and stayed strong. He was, after all, Unbroken, by what he had gone through. Louis would sit in a completely dark tiny little room for weeks on end, being starved and tortured. He would think of his family, his woman, and of course, running. Louis is one of the strongest people I have read about.
The amount of skill needed to hike mountains, cross rivers, and survive deserts is crucial (Doc A). He was lost, and had to use a tree that had been struck by lightning and “he lit a branch in the dying flames”. “Each night he huddled in a hole that he’d dug”, so that he could be warm and not get frostbite. “He ate what he was available” and drank water store in hollowed-out horse-leg containers (Doc B). After doing all of those things that nobody else would think to do I think that it is safe to say that he has great survival skills.
He exercised a mentality of being untouchable seen in the way he pushes the limits of his
He prayed and kept praying and praying he kept his sanity and faith in god. He prayed for all the people that had been killed or died. He had to stick with his dad and keep him in good health so he would not loose him. “I can’t loose my dad he is all I have got.” He could not loose his dad because it is all
Which shows that he had the strength and courage to keep trying to help accomplish more in his
Because he was unable to run, again it put him into a deep depression that was only cured after he became a Christian. A while after he became a Christian he was able run again and would eventually go to Japan to carry the Olympic torch. He did more than just run though; he did skateboarding, rock climbing and other adventurous things. He also created camp to help with troubled boys, because he felt like he needed to keep boys from going down the wrong path. He felt that way because if he hadn’t straightened out he wouldn’t have been able to have all those great life experiences.
He showed his sense of self when he became his own person with spirits, shrewdness, and imagination. (xviii) His transformation was proven in his journey of risk taking, danger, family, and friendships that can be told the next generation as well
Michael Joseph Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 in Gary Indiana. He was born to Joseph Walter and Katherine Jackson. Growing up Michael was teased for how he looked; he was teased so badly by his father he cried daily. At the age of fourteen he grew a little in height, however people still though of his as a “cute” little kid. As if growing up in teenage struggles was not enough, Michael’s skin broke out in a terrible case of acne.
He even starved himself to show help people. He was a person who put people above him and never gave up on any cause he put his heart into. Never did he show weakness he was strong for the people he supported he was a hero. He didn't have to get better working conditions for those people he didn't have to keep living conditions equal after he made enough to survive he could have given himself so much more but he didn't he keep things equal.
Morgan Cook Unbroken Book Review 1/16/18 Mrs. Campbell Honors Literature PD 1 “Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand was published in 2010. From the first chapter i was hooked. Hillenbrand’s imagery and style caught my eye and pulled me into Louie’s story with no hesitation. I absolutely loved Hillenbrand’s structure in this book and it was much better than others i have read.
Percy Cerutty described Herb Elliot, the 1960 1500m Olympic Champion as a “Stotan”. The term “Stotan” refers to a cross between a “Stoic” and a “Spartan.” The Stotan code explains that an athlete must be able to withstand any physical hardship to accomplish feats of strength and endurance. A Stotan is tough, works hard, and never complains. It also goes on to state that the mind is what hold’s back an athlete in training and competition.
Jesse James was a very horrible man that a lot of people looked up to for some reason. He was into a lot of criminal activity that got him into some trouble. Not with just the law but with other people as well, so he always had to keep a lookout for people that looked suspicious. But one day he didn't keep a good enough eye out and it got him in trouble. So here are the events that lead up to Jesse James criminal career and eventually his death.
His determination helped him get where he was, though not a very good place, it brought him to where he is
That is why we celebrate him. Not because he died at a young age. Not because it’s his birthday and everyone likes birthdays. But because he actually changed our nations way of thinking. He was strong-willed and he knew he had the power to jump, so he did.
His strength and willpower assisted him on the journey to make a name for himself even when he is dead.
