Privacy is about something to protect… freedom of speech doesn’t mean much if you can’t have a quiet space… arguing that you don’t have privacy because you have nothing to hide is like arguing that you don’t care about free speech because you have nothing to say.” (Document 2). The point of view is from an ardent Libertarian that has contributed to Ron Paul’s campaign numerous times. Edward Snowden firmly believes in the right to self.

Despite its nature that has lead this type of logic to be a default in several cultures, this argument is unsuccessful in proving a creator—which is its goal.
Privacy is key to helping people maintain their sense of individuality. Some people often feel like themselves and can express more of whom they are when they have privacy. I personally believe that a little privacy is good for the soul. We, as human beings, need privacy. Without having a home, you have very little privacy, if any at all, which is why a home is everything.
And it should stay like this since our private information is precious to us. And for it to be ripped out of our hands, and given to local, and state governments at large can be problematic. For example, using our precious information for something other than protecting our country, can cause certain restrictions, and regulations that are would be used on any type of socialization within the internet. You shouldn’t have to be watched if you aren’t deemed a threat to yourself or society. In my opinion humans are naturally more private creatures that don’t like sharing everything about themselves. The individual right of privacy allows humans to hide somethings about themselves, if it doesn’t seem harmful. However, surveillance is used in public order to observe those that could be plotting against the government, or an attack in the United States. Surveillance has been used to catch and stop many dangerous people who show a threat to the safety of the United States.
Personal records given to the NSA or government without a probable cause or reasoning for a search warrant repels everything the Fourth Amendment represents. As said by Samuel Warren and Louis Brandeis “Now the right to life has come to the right to be let alone” with the government and other associations receiving the right to track records at any moment takes away from the feeling of security the Fourth Amendment is supposed to give citizens. The confidentiality of individual’s personal belongings, feeling of security, and freedom from governmental obstruction is what makes the Fourth Amendment important to society, although search-warrants can be issued with causes that seem reasonable.
There are many who believe the Fourth Amendment provides the people with the right to privacy, but that is not the case at all. The Fourth Amendment is the people's guarantee that searches for the purpose of finding evidence which can be used in a court of law can only be implemented with probable cause. Not only does law enforcement have to show probable cause but their search warrant must describe the place they are going to search as well as what or who may be seized (Bohm &
People have the right to make personal decisions regarding intimate matters and relationships. They have the right to control their own lives in a fashion that is secluded from the public's critical observations. This right to privacy protects the liberty of people to make particular consequential decisions regarding their own well-being without the involvement or interference of the government. Such decisions may involve procreation, the termination of treatment and assisted death, and private sexual affairs. Although the Constitution does not have explicit written Amendments regarding the right to privacy, it can be interpreted that the amendments were built on the aspect of privacy.
