Davy’s Change In the story 'The Lottery’ Davy’s mom dies due to winning the lottery. She feels the lottery should be stopped, but the story ends after she wins the lottery and dies from a terrible death of people throwing rocks at her. The story ends here, but what about Davy? What would happen to him? He is just a little boy and now with no mother.What is his life like now? The lottery is done for the crops. Hutchinson told him in an angry voice. Davy grabbed an apple and ran out the door. He was not going to be late for the second time this week. His first period is math so he doesn't have the most motivation to be there besides seeing his friend in the morning before school. That is if he is not late. He arrives a minute before the bell rings and feels quite proud. He sees his friend and walks over to them. It is a group of about seven people. Brody, Samantha, Liam, Anthony, Bella, Jordan,and Jason. The group sadly all have something in common. A relative has died from the lottery. “Riiiing” the bell rings to go to class, Davy walks to math and sits in the back of the classroom. He sits next to one of his best friends, Brody. He has a similar story to Davy. His older brother died from the lottery. This class is so boring for Davy, but he has friends in it so it’s not the worst class. The bell rings to go to his next class and he feels relief that math is over. He gets through all his classes and heads home. His dad is in the kitchen waiting for him when he gets home.
