Good morning ladies and gentlemen. I would like to start off by thanking you all for making time to be here today. Like I had stated before, name is Essie J. McKinley. Mr. Johnny Cade is charged with concealed weapon, leaving the scene of a felony, and voluntary manslaughter. The reason we are here today, is to answer the question: Is Johnny Cade actually guilty?
”(pg.55) This piece of evidence shows that Bob is the leader of their group because he gave David an order. This shows that if you kill Bob, the others will scatter or freak. Therefore, he killed Bob on purpose and with intent. Another valid point on why Johnny Cade should be charged with second degree murder is because of what Johnny said to Ponyboy Curtis, one of his closest friends, soon after the incident “I had to.
If you killed someone for self defence would you think you could go to jail? In the book The Outsiders by S.E Hinton a 16 year old boy killed named Johnny that has been horribly beaten up a 18 year old guy who was dangerously attacking another greaser, Ponyboy. His best friend, Randy Adderson and a few other young men went. Actually, Randy had given a confession on the entire event, stating that Johnny stabbed Robert in self defense. The socs get the praise, the greasers get the blame. If you look closely at the socs, in the novel The Outsiders by SE: Hinton you will find that they were the only ones to have the ability to do such things, such as vandalizing, but people just jump the gun and assume the greasers did it. The socs beat up and bully the greasers, but don't get caught.

Hook: Would you ever convict an innocent boy who acted out of defense of himself and his friend of murdering person who constantly attacks him? The answer should be no. Background information: Known as his “greaser gang’s” pet, Johnny Cade grew up in a household with no role models. Not only was he constantly bullied at home, he was attacked outside as well. Johnny was continuously being assaulted by Socs looking for trouble and he would never fully recover from the trauma in which he has been through.
“You got to think Ponyboy” is one of my favorites quotes to say after my parents died. I have two jobs and also to watch out for Ponyboy and Sodapop not to go to a boys home. I am the oldest of the greasers. I slapped Ponyboy to tell him to never be late again. Also I slapped him because I can not call the police because they will put Soda and him in a boys home and they would never see me again.
Parents/Guardians are meant to take good care of their child or siblings. It’s their responsibility to feed them and give them shelter. Without parents, these children or siblings have no place to go other than the streets and cause trouble and join gangs. For example, in the book the Outsiders written by S.E Hinton the characters Johnny, Dally and Bob died because their parents didn’t care about them or matter to them. Their parents were responsible for their deaths.
Johnny made this spontaneous decision because the Socs were trying to drown Ponyboy in the park’s fountain.
