The world may have begun with a bang, but America began with a whimper. If was a small cry of injustice uttered from the mouths of the men we now know as our founding fathers. No taxation without representation they shouted from the streets, revolution was just around the corner. Back then we were simply a small group of states still under the tyrannical rule of King George. Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock, Alexander Hamilton, George Washington and many more are the names that now cover our city and fill our textbooks. What did these men create and how did they do it? How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a Scotsman, dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in the Caribbean by providence impoverished in squalor, grow up to be a hero and a scholar? The disgruntled citizens were discontent with King George's rule and refused to continue to sit by idly. It was time for a fight, time for a revolution. It all began with a document that would become the most important paper in American history, the declaration of independence. A formal statement that declared the colonies officially independent and under they own rule. It was a statement of independence, a statement of war. On July 4, 1776, one of the last wars on US territory occurred. It was the beginning of the revolutionary war. The Americans were outnumbered, outgunned, and outmanned. They were completely out of their zone and the British military was one of the best in the world. British troops continuously filed into the east coast and America was scrambling to craft a ragtag army from militias, citizens, and soldiers. General George Washington was working at an impossible task with barely any men or supplies.
