What is Beauty? Everyone sees beauty differently and it can be seen in every single object on this Earth. Nature is beautiful, people are beautiful, and ideas are beautiful. So how do you define a concept that is so different to everyone and so prevalent in our everyday lives? How do you look at someone and say 'You are beautiful' but look at someone else and say 'You are not'? To put it simply, I don't. Beauty is not solely based on looks, it is composed of equal parts poise and knowing your self worth. I try to find the beauty in every moment I live, in the people I meet, and in the places I go. Most magazines and movies feature those who weigh less than average, have perfect skin, and are youthful. This is especially true for women. Men are expected to be muscular and tall, the epitome of masculinity. There is currently a movement to change society's view of what beauty is. People are taking to social media in efforts to make a less exclusive definition for beauty. Take a look at the children's movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. This children's movie has one major moral; beauty will get you a prince. Little girls are then left with the impression that all you have to do in life is be pretty. What the movie does not explain is that beauty isn't just about having skin as white as snow, lips red as rose, and hair black as ebony. Rather beauty is about knowing your own self worth. After her abusive step mother drives her away from her home, Snow White does not give up on finding her place in the world. She knows that she deserve her very own happy ending. Though it takes some time and hardship to get there, Snow finally gets her prince and lives happily ever
