When most people think of the word family they will automatically think of the typical family that includes a mother, father, children, and relatives. If you look up the word family on Merriam-Webster.com they would say that the definition of family is a “group of people who are related to each other and live in the same house.” Even though this is true of many families, this isn’t the only or correct way that you could define a family. There are a limitless amount of ways you can define a family, and almost everyone has their own perception and or definition of what family is.You could define a family as a group of people who may not be related by marriage or blood but people who care, support and love each other. It has been this way since the beginning. Almost every part of your life involves family in some type of way. For example at if you play a team sport your team is a part of your family, and you would do anything for them. At school, everyone is considered family. We are a family or students and teachers. These are only a few examples that some people in our society may accept as a family, but these examples really only describe family in a very broad way. Family can be and is much deeper than all of this. A very common misconception about family is that to be related you have to be related by blood, marriage, and or adoption. Honestly I believe that family can be anyone that you love and care about and who also feels the same way about you as well. I believe that family goes hand in hand with friendship. I believe that in order to have a family you need friendship. For example my family and I don’t just get along and aren’t as close because we are forced to be, we get along and we are very close because we all love each other and want nothing but the best for each
