What is being loyal to someone, how can it be seen? Why is it that when one is betrayed, that is all that they think about night and day? The truth is loyalty cannot be seen but only felt between people who have faith within one another. As for betrayal, it can affect one so severely that it cannot leave their mind, especially if a loved one has caused it. In “Choices” by Susan Kerslake and “The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury, the authors suggest that a person can change based solely on their needs, and question their ability to stay loyal or betray.
As previously stated, evidence does interact with faith. When you have evidence that a friend is a person that does morally good things, such as giving to charity, you have faith that friend would never steal from another person. How, then, is the overlooking of hard cold evidence, such as a cheating boyfriend, considered faith and not blind hope? Faith, according to Merriam-Webster, is to believe, defined as “the feeling of being sure that something is true”, and trust, “assured reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something”. Faith does not seem to be the word you would use when describing putting all of your eggs in one basket for something you already know to be false.
The definition of belief is the trust, faith, or confidence in someone or something. It is the sole source of power for any idea, opinion, and most importantly, religion. A belief can relent the possibility of anything to happen. The only thing that matters is what the belief is put into, whose faith is put into what. Time stretches and ignites the way for people to conquer anyone or anything, to topple buildings and strain people to unimaginable limits.

With the understanding of confidence and trust, we can now understand Gustafson’s use of the word faith. One example of faith in “The Crucible” would be Abigail Williams believing John Proctor still loves her even when he denies their relationship. When Proctor comes to the Parris’s home to check on Betty, Abigail begins to accuse him of still having feelings for her. She is convinced that Proctor did truly love her because of the way he acted when she was around him and when Elizabeth fired her. Abigail has faith that Proctor did not want “to put her out” but his wife is the one who wanted her gone. Proctor continues to reject any relations between them until admitting “he may think of her softly from time to time”.
Faith strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. In in a simplified way faith is what you believe in.according to God action speaks louder than words. In the text “TECHNIQUE: FAITH AND GOOD WORK” it states “Suppose a brother or sister without clothing and daily food. if one of you says to them “Go in peace; keep warm and fed,” but does doe nothing about their physical need, what good is it?” in the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
Now faith is defined as the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. In the stories The Song of Roland and Dante’s Inferno both main character’s faith was tested on their spiritual quest to salvation. Roland was betrayed and outnumbered by his enemies and Dante was lost in the darkness of sin. As each man faced difficult situations on their missions, both relied on their faith to overcome their enemy, persevered through obstacles and refused to turn back.
Faith is believing there is light when all one can see is darkness. Throughout Hamlet, Shakespeare uses belief as a guiding force for his characters. They are defined by their faith, or lack thereof, and their beliefs lead many of their actions. In this time period, so many people had horrible lives, faith in an afterlife was the only hope in which to keep living. The concept of an afterlife based on how one behaved in life is a defining characteristic of many religions, and Shakespeare uses this belief as the ultimate decision-maker in many character’s actions.
Someone once said, “Loyalty isn’t grey. It’s black and white. You’re either completely loyal, or not loyal at all. And people have to understand this. You can’t be loyal only when it serves you.”
Faith being a name and also a strong belief in something. While reading the story some people may question Faiths character, wondering if she is actually a person or if when they say Faith they are only referring to Goodman’s belief in God. As Goodman Brown is leaving and him and Faith are saying their goodbyes he tells her that she cannot give up that he will be back. He tells her not to lose her Faith in him. On Goodman Brown’s trip through the woods he realizes that he cannot lose his faith or it is likely that he may not return home to his Faith.
Truth, by definition, is the act of being true in accordance with fact or reality. Though there is a lot that we want to believe as truth, that society disagrees with what we are thinking should be the truth. One example of what truth is, is the story of the blind men and the elephant. We all have a different view of what truth is, and only when we open up our minds, do we finally see the big picture that is the world around us. The career that I am planning on going into is computer engineering.
2. Religion 2.1. Definition of Religion Religion is a set of beliefs, morals, and values that people practice to guide their lives in a spiritual manner. Religion entails traditions, customs and cultures that influences people to live a life of morality and can be shared among communities and societies. It is a linkage to our inner beings and through the belief of God to dedicate our lives in helping others and in the pursuit of self happiness.
