What Will Happen? “Desire is the key to motivation, but it’s determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal- a commitment to excellence- that will enable you to attain the success you seek” (Mario Andretti). One of the most important components of success is defining what success means to everyone. It is important to know and understand the definition, once that is accomplished, then one needs to establish goals to help others obtain the success that they seek. This may be due a sense of comfort with the status quo or a sense of entitlement. “One of the main reasons people fail to reach their full potential is because they are unwilling to risk anything” (Anonymous). People expect things to be handed to them instead of setting and actually working toward their goals. According to Newton’s third law, “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” This ultimately means deep down that one knows if they have truly given something their all, or if they are settling for a silver metal when realistically they could have won the gold. People have began settling instead of pushing themselves. This can be seen in the simple example of the effort expended to study and pass an exam, vs. to ace an exam. People must strive for greatness, they must be dauntless and then they can achieve success. Everyone should push themselves in some area of their lives to reach their untapped potential, to be the best they can be. If everyone invested their time and energy into the important tasks that were in front of them they would be more likely to successfully complete the tasks. One must reach deep within themself and put more into the situation for later they would get more out of it. This may be true for when everyone is faced with doubt and anger at times for not living up to what one thought. One could but deep down they know whether or not they truly gave it their all. No one else will look back and say that they could have done more, but they will be faced with knowing it.
