When you hear the word family, what is the first thought that comes in mind? The definition for family according to the dictionary is: All the descendants of a common ancestor; genealogy, lineage, bloodline, etc...

The first thought for me are the people that live with me, along with the people that I grew up with, that is family to me . Family is a word used to identify those who are related to you through blood, right? okay. What about friends? would you consider them family? or perhaps your church friends? Do you see them as just close friends or could they be called family?

Every brother and sister has a biological father and mother, and that is why they are called brother and sister and that is also the reason they are related. You see, When a person accepts Christ as Lord and Savior, they become a child of God. Therefore, that person now has a heavenly father that has many children, and because of that, they become a brother and sister in Christ to many people in the world. How? How is that possible? A process begins: the old self dies,the person gets regenerated, cleansed, transformed, a new creature is created. That person now belongs to God and becomes a child of God. The reason why we are related to other believers who have been through the same process is through the BLOOD of Jesus Christ. When Christ gave His life on that cross for the world, he shed blood, tears, sweat, he got beat, whipped, abused mentally and physically. However, His blood, that beautiful blood is what makes us a family. It also cleans us, it gave us the greatest gift of all—salvation. His death and resurrection gives those who accept him as Lord and savior the privilege to become one with him and to have a family in Christ with other
