The American dream The United States of America, also known as the “Land of the free,” is one of the most distinctive countries in the world. A country made of people from many different races and ethnicities, it is the society which contains an interesting composite of cultures brought along by a diverse population. However, the ideal life for the citizens of the United States, the American dream, is a very contentious topic. The definition of the American dream can be determined and represented according to each person’s point of view. Some might say that it consists of prosperity, a successful life, and security. Others might argue that the dream is just that, a dream. Something that is almost imaginative when looking at things such as the economy. Entirely, it is an ideal life that people are wanting to achieve. The ideal life for citizens is composed of three main subjects: the pursuit of happiness, liberty, and life.
The first characteristic, the pursuit of happiness, means that people should be able to pursue their own dreams. It’s one of the most basic ideas that created the foundation for culture of the United States to this day. First, people should be able to chase after their dreams and do the things they want to. Second, people should be acknowledged as they are and they should cooperate with others peacefully. Third, all individuals should be treated as equals and be free from unwarranted persecution. The American dream is the ideal of society and a concept that the individuals across the world, not just Americans, should try to succeed through cooperation and understanding of those around
