Success
Human beings like success. Yet, what is success? What is the definition of success? There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people’s eyes. Some people argue that success is making a lot of wealth or getting first place in everything. For instance, everyone like number ones: after the Olympic Games, people always can remember the names of the fastest swimmer or runner in the world. But who remember the name of the second fastest? While, others think that success is not necessarily external and material things. It can also be spiritual harvest, such as spiritual happiness or contentment. From my perspective, success is never be beaten down by any difficulties and failures.

To achieve success we have to undergo countless hardships and tremendous sacrifices. Let’s take Helen Keller as an example. In 1882, when Helen was a baby girl, she caught a fever that was so fierce she nearly died. She survived but the fever left its mark. More centrally worse, she could no longer see or hear. But, later, she grew up to become a world-famous author and public speaker. A teacher named Anne Sullivan arrived from Boston to help her. Because Miss Sullivan herself had once been blind so she tried her best to teach Helen to live like other people. She taught Helen how to use her hands as a way of speaking. She also took Helen out into the woods to explore nature. And she explained everything in the language she and Helen used, a language of touch, of fingers and hands. With the Miss Sullivan’s help, Helen also learned how to ride to horse, to swim, and even to climb trees. As a blind and deaf, Helen has done a lot of admirable things. Helen in her famous essay If I had Three Days to See inspires us in the face of a difficult time, and overcome it bravely.
