Anger is almost an everyday occurrence in people’s lives. It is an emotional state. It is sometimes explained as one of our most basic emotion. Anger is no respecter of person, place, time age, or gender.
It is important to edify oneself about anger, as it can cause negative effects to the human mind, and as a result can have a terrible ending if acted on. The bible equates anger to wrath. Psalm 90:11 says “Who knoweth the power of thine anger? Even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath”.

It speaks and provides examples of righteous and unrighteous anger and how we should handle this as Christians. Let us desire that God will transform our lives and, create that change in us so our lives will be examples of the Christ that died for us and the Holy Spirit that dwells in us. Then we can be good examples to others and be able inspire them. In The Fruit of the Spirit authored by Thomas Trask and Wayde Goodall we are told that a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. They go on to say that we can choose to respond with a soft gentle answer or to be just as tough as the other person who made the comment. The bible condemns and we should turn away from this form of expression and do not allow its vengeful, destructive effects to destroy us or others. Though human anger is normal and is not necessarily sinful it can be hurtful and cause pain. Hilary Jacobs Hendel a New York Psychotherapist and the wife of a dear friend of mine said that our emotions are the doorway to feeling better when we learn to work with them.
