What is the opposite of loneliness? A big family? Maybe a bunch of friends that you met either the classic way or virtually through social media or your xbox 360. Does it have to involve people, or society in general? Loneliness is a very common emotion. As used to be an adjective or verb, but in many ways, takes the form of a noun. Loneliness, in my understanding, has a type of presence that once inflicted onto an individual takes the form of yet another human being. Psychologists describe depression as the shadow your body casts from the light radiating from the sun. Even though it is said to be like another individual and acts as almost a friend to whom in which it preys upon, depression is the loneliest feeling in the world. It 's hard to connect with others and one may say they feel as if their looking at the world through the other side of a sheet of glass. Completely dissociated from society. As I said earlier, you can feel alone in a sea full of people and that reigns as a particular part of depression. In many cases though, the effect of being alone does not cause loneliness in some people. I feel that the consciousness of being alone is not depicted by others, but yourself. Our mind is full of thoughts and ideas. We are stuck with it for the rest of our lives and it really does play the part of another companion standing by your side as if you conducted the positive side to their negative sided magnet. To be able to abide by the presence of loneliness, you would have to see yourself or your mind in general as something not worthy of acknowledgement. When depression controls your mind and filters in the utterly painful thoughts and emotions it provides, who would rely on their mind for comfort and love? It makes you feel alone not only on the outside, but the inside as well resulting in a hatred towards oneself.
