In Demi Lovato’s life, she had multiple experiences in her past where she had to choose to either run from or learn from her past. Demi was homeschooled as a kid because of bullies and chose to run from being bullied for part of her childhood. Biography Today states, “Lovato was homeschooled after experiences from middle school bullies (Demi Lovato 1992-)” When Demi was a child, she thought it would be better to run from her bullies than to learn from them. She may of chose to run from her bullies when she was a child, but she ended up learning that you can run from things in life, but learning from them will change your perspective on life and the people around you. President Obama has learned from the Sandy Hook shooting that these types of tragic events are happening too often. In the World Almanac, World News Digest states, “He said “Since I’ve been President, this is the fourth time we have come together to comfort a grieving community torn apart by mass shootings (World News Digest.” President Obama has seen too many communities be ripped apart by mass shootings. Obama is learning that there has to be a way to prevent tragedies like this from happening. President Obama wants tragedies like this to stop and plans to do everything in his power to stop them. In the World Almanac, World News Digest concludes, I will use all of my power to aim towards preventing more tragedies like this, because we cannot accept stuff like this as routine. President Obama has learned that he needs to take more action to stop shootings. Obama believes that we need to change our actions and stop accepting tragedies like these. Wal-Mart has learned that powerful weapons like these should not be sold to the convenience of anyone. Corporations as big as Wal-Mart are learning that guns should not be sold to just anyone. Doing things in your past that you regret can be hurtful, but hurtful things need to be learned from. In the interview conducted, Jennifer Justice states, “The past can be hurtful because if I did something I regretted, it would be hurtful to me now (Justice).” Jennifer has done things she has regretted in her past. She learned from her regrets to not make the same mistakes again. Both good and bad experiences in your past can be learned from.
