Racism, prejudice, and bias are all manifestations of hatred that have been present within the world for a significant amount of time. This has been discussed and explained in literature, media, and many other forms. When it comes to this hatred we often do not do much to stop it or lessen its presence within the world, we rather feed it and watch as it grows ever more present. Some people will push this off to the side and dismiss it as if it is fine and we should not or can not do anything about it. This is often because hatred can be difficult to overcome due to the many different barriers between us and those who are different than us. Hatred can manifest in many different forms, but it is always evident when hatred manifests within someone and it forms their decisions and opinions on others and the world, which is a very common occurrence in American History X. A great deal of innocent people were killed during the war due to the lack of knowledge about them. She asks questions that allow her to relate to the lives of the Vietnamese people. She makes an attempt to break through the barriers between her and the innocent Vietnamese people who were killed during the war. Breaking through these barriers is imperative when it comes to ridding the world of hate, racism, prejudice, and bias. If we are not able to break through the barriers between us and those whom we do not know or understand we can never begin to make a difference in the world. If we can not begin to learn about each other despite our differences we will sit and wallow in hatred which will only cause further problems within an already problem ridden
