Your honor, as I evaluated Gene Forrester, he was exceedingly suspicious, although that doesn’t mean anything quite yet. I didn’t want him to feel uncomfortable, so we talked until I got to know Gene a little better than before. We went where he was most comfortable to talk about the incident. I started off with simple questions to keep him from getting nervous. I asked him about his friendship with Phineas.
Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. As a matter of fact, he was known as being a risk taker and enjoyed being out and about in the nature side of the world. Many would believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild to purposely kill himself; however, I myself believe that McCandless did not do it purposely.

Longtown, Ohio is one of the only places where races didn’t matter two centuries ago. Interracial marriages were happening here without argument or trouble. This system of liberty and freedom of the races was founded by a freed slave from Virginia named James Clemens, who later became a rich farmer, but this system is close to being abolished because of the decrease of the original Longtown population. Their places are being taken by whites and they are also purchasing their property. This will eventually move out the people of Longtown and be a city of whites.
Skateboarding, Baseball, Red Hot Chili Peppers: these are just a few things Los Angeles has become known for. But just one year after the city of St. Louis was left without an NFL team, San Diego has also fallen into a near identical situation. On January 12th, 2017, the Chargers’ ownership group announced the relocation of the team to Los Angeles. This has given " The City of Angels" their second NFL franchise in as many years. This move has also come as a shock to many NFL fans, myself included.
In today’s society, we have former National Football League(NFL) quarterback Collin Kapernick who’s no longer in the NFL because of his protest against racial inequality. However, many people believe he is no longer in the NFL because of his talent. Kapernick led the 49ers to Super Bowl 47. Although they didn’t win, he threw for 302 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 62 yards. Therefore, he didn’t get kicked out of the league because he wasn’t good enough, but for sitting down during the national anthem.
In life some feel the need to prove something to others. That they are better, stronger, or even more intelligent. Whatever the case may be people will go through extreme measures to prove themselves. But who do we really need to prove anything to? Is it our parents?
Recycling Should it be Mandatory for Everyone? Texas is the second largest state in the U.S.A. It is approximately 790 miles long and 660 miles wide. It also takes 12 hours just to drive through it. In our ocean there is a trash pile that is the size of Texas, just floating around.
“You always dread the unfamiliar,” (Bradbury 58). Ray Bradbury was a true visionary considering he grasped all revolutionary future concepts. Bradbury wrote the truth behind life. He wrote what was foreign to the knowledge of society. Bradbury’s writing brought fear into the lives of many because it was unfamiliar, however, it made connections to society now.
Slide #1 (1984 Newspeak): Arthur Intro: Earlier this year we all read the dystopian novel, 1984, by George Orwell. Where the protagonist, Winston, finds himself in a position where he’s aware of the main goals of the party-controlled language Newspeak. He is bilingual and is very well aware of the individual thought suppressing new language, Newspeak. Syme, a colleague of Winston, discusses how by 2050 the final edition of the dictionary will be finished and Newspeak will be the only predominant language. Syme stated “The whole climate of thought will be different.
Every community has an issue of some sort. My communities issue is not having anywhere safe for kids and teens to hang out. Kids are getting involved with drugs and drinking because that is all that the community offers. We don’t have a bowling alley, or a skating rink, or a dance club, or anything for kids to do. However there are a bunch of bars and parks full of drug dealers!
In my essay I will be talking about how picking up trash along roads and at other places can help improve our community. There is trash everywhere now a days, and it’s gross. It’s getting to the point that no one will enjoy going on walks or even sit in the park and enjoy the sun without seeing or smell trash that’s just left. There are many different ways to get rid of trash around the community. For example when you see trash pick it up and throw it away in a TRASH CAN.
Kevin’s Sentence is a 25 minute audio clip that allows people to relive the experience of an 18 year old Canadian named Kevin Hollinsky and his drunk driving experience that happened on the 30th of July, 1994. Best friends of Kevin; Joey Camlis aged 18 and Andrew Thompson aged 19 were the unfortunate people whose lives were lost that night due to being under the influence. The short audio clip covers eveything from the tragic event to Kevin travelling around Windsor and it’s various highschool giving out presentations about drink driving and its consequences. Overall in the end I have many mixed feelings about the audiotape as I believe that is was both a good idea the court made, yet unnecessary in the long run. As despite the fact that Kevin
