Kevin’s Sentence is a 25 minute audio clip that allows people to relive the experience of an 18 year old Canadian named Kevin Hollinsky and his drunk driving experience that happened on the 30th of July, 1994. Best friends of Kevin; Joey Camlis aged 18 and Andrew Thompson aged 19 were the unfortunate people whose lives were lost that night due to being under the influence. The short audio clip covers eveything from the tragic event to Kevin travelling around Windsor and it’s various highschool giving out presentations about drink driving and its consequences. Overall in the end I have many mixed feelings about the audiotape as I believe that is was both a good idea the court made, yet unnecessary in the long run. I later became appalled as they were essentially forcing him to relive the horrific experience constantly, just for the benefit of the future generation who couldve or chosen not to listen to Kevin and his warning of the repercussions of drink …show more content…

Nevertheless in this situation drink driving is a common thing that happens daily in New Zealand and other countries around the gobe. Which is why people give advice to eachother on things that should or not do. Personally advice I would give to other kids my age older and younger would be to not do anything your not supposed to. For example if your underage don’t drink, if you don’t have a licence don’t drive, etc. I would also like to ephasize on Kevin’s advice given during the audiotape as he says: “Call a cab, don’t go with anyone who’s been drinking or driving, walk if you have to, stay where your at, call your parents.” Overall personally I believe that the message meant to be taken from the audio was to think before you act or do something, if it includes yourself and others as your actions may or can cause
