In society there are depersonalizations that come with institutions such as places of education, and government. One of the terrible markers of depersonalization is genocide. One of the most remembered genocides in history a part from, Stalin’s political prisoners, and the re-locating and executions of Native American’s in the new world, is the Holocaust. During the Holocaust, Nazi’s did not treat Jews like people but rather a disgraceful part of society that were to be rid of. However, depersonalization does not only happen on a global level, but rather it happens daily in each of our lives. It consists of the manipulation of persons as things who are used for ulterior motives. A very harsh example would be a mother may have been using the child to somehow get back at the father by not allowing him visitation rights. …show more content…

She is not worried about the well-being of her child because it is true that every child needs both of their parents. Another example of depersonalization which many students may experience is a friendship of utility where one is being used merely for their intellect on a certain subject rather than just as a person.
