What is the Glen Mic Night? (Rhetorical Question) Imagine an occasion where individuals can express their feelings through the art of words. Imagine a night that is filled with creativity and passion. Imagine a microphone in one’s hand, and everyone is waiting for the artist to perform. (Anaphora) Welcome to the Glen Mic Night. The Glen Mic Night occurred on March 9, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 pm. People could sign up either by emailing Daniel Tobia, the host of the Glen Mic Night, or by signing their name on the promotional poster found in Tower A’s lobby. The area was in Tower A’s TV lounge. I performed after Ty and I had two acts. I rapped approximately three minutes on my first act. More people came in as I was rapping. As a result, the host brought more chairs to seat the plethora of students that entered the gallery. As the room began to fill up, I worried that not everyone would fit inside. Ty had about twenty-five people by the end of his performance, but I had over fifty people during my performance. The theme of my song was cheating in relationships. I used metaphors, punchlines, and alliteration in my rap so that the audience could understand my message. The crowd continuously nodded whenever they heard a punchline. This gave me more energy to give an outstanding show. Furthermore, the crowd appeared surprised when I used profanity. At first, I assumed the audience would not enjoy the language. I do not remember their names, but I will always remember their faces and presentations. I was able to watch musicians, actors, and dancers perform captivating solos, phenomenal acting, and hilarious dancing. I met a couple of imaginative artists such as James and Charles. James rapped one of his songs for two minutes after my poetry act. His rhythm and rhymes were what caught my attention because he has the same style as Post Malone.
