Looking through the sheer glass window of a plane, I could see the beautiful sunset resting behind New York City. The glowing beams from the sunset radiated to the sky while orange and pink colors dispersed in every direction. Stars, or maybe other planes, loomed in the distance. Below, I spotted Central Park, the only green patch in the entire concrete jungle. Nearby, I could hear the chopping of a helicopter as the plane descended towards the ground. When the plane finally landed, the sunset had faded. I could see the flashing lights of the city in the distance and could already hear the roar of sounds from the New York natives. Time Square was gigantic and was filled with stores twice the size of an average store. The Forever 21 was two stories tall and was decorated with gigantic red posters reading “50% off sale”. The McDonald’s had a blow up Ronald McDonald that was almost 50 feet tall and a bowling alley on the top floor. When I stood in the center of Time Square, I could see crowds of people gathered in small groups pointing and screaming at surrounding signs. Many of them were taking pictures in front of the of the the 32 story (363 foot) New York Times tower. Children were running and playing on the steps and some were feeding gray pigeons. Billboards for local Broadway shows hung off the sides of local stores and marquees for late night talk shows flashed different red and blue lights. Commercials for the new IPhone played repeatedly over the gigantic television screens. Street performers blasted hip-hop music and performed while surrounding crowds placed money into their hats. A man, who was painted a metallic gray, was pretending to be a robot while a pigeon pecked at his feet. The streets were full of people and taxis continued to honk over and over at pedestrians who would not get out of their way. I could even smell the strong fragrances of food from the surrounding
