Room 2317 A strange phenomena accompanies the room of 2317, the feeling of being so used to a place but have only been at the school for barely a month now. 2317 finds its home at 101 Academy Drive Buzzards Bay, MA 02532 on the 3rd floor of 2nd company, room number 17. The sound of the wind makes less of an impression with the commotion of the school day. As the day winds down the room becomes messier and the smell of the room becomes more sweaty and heavy, the wind through the window becomes extremely important. During the quietness of study hours the wind howls through the window bringing a chill in the dorm. After study hours the room gently goes to sleep one by one as shipmates finish up their respective homework and turn off the shine of the desk lights. The room falls asleep to the calming wind flowing through the room like a silk road. After taking in all the sounds, sights, and smells of room 2317, the ways of the victorian adventurer is only as applicable in your mind as you make it. Some minds are able to dive into singular sounds and break them down while other minds take in every sight and sound making it harder to focus in on singular items but rather look all together into a picture. As Reel explains “Some things, surely deserve to be ignored” (Reel12), the decision made in the mind as to which sense to focus or more or which to evaluate upon more is a tough one.
