After reviewing Units 1-5 including the objectives and concepts it aligns with the final project. The strategic marketing plan is a combination of all objectives learned and utilized throughout units 1 to 5. Unit 1 laid out the foundation for Marketing by diving into the current marketing systems being utilized along with today’s key factor’s and influences within Marketing. Unit 1 really brought to life the current marketing strategies utilized every day in the global economy. As stated in the editorial board, “marketing is the responsibility of each employee of an organization, whether a large fortune 500 company or a new enterprise with five employees.”
Strategy: First we need to understand and know the customers. At a basic level, we should know the important factors of the customers like their demographic location, gender, website browsing habits etc. But that’s not enough.
One professional item in my portfolio would be my marketing plan I did for Chick-fil-A. Throughout this plan I was needed to collect a historical background of the company. Collect consumer analysis by providing demographic, geographic, and psychographic profiles. I also did my research by providing a competitive analysis for Chick-fil-A. I also had the opportunity to interview one of the managers at the Chick-fil-A about how this divine franchise works and what their goals are for their customers. I learned all about strategies that goes into a company such as product, price, distribution, promotional, and financial strategies. I learned the promotional opportunities that Chick-fil-A provides their customers through the social media platform.

September 20th on the CBC News website a story published titled “Dudley George's brother in serious condition after being accidentally set on fire”. This story explains a celebratory walk done by Kettle Point First Nations that took a turn when a group called Stony Point set a protest fire in front of a military camp that was just agreed by the Ottawa government to be returned to the First Nations. The fire was set to show that not all band members where in support of the agreement that was made. Perry Neil Watson George was caught on fire and is now suffering from second degree burns. The story also mentions Dudley George, Perry's brother who was shot in a protest in 1995, and the accusations made by the Stony Point people that there chief is buying votes.
In America, the 1980s was a time of political change, social tension, and music by Madonna. It was a decade full of new technologies and big changes. Journalism and other forms of media also saw many changes in the 1980s that helped it advance into the industry it has become today. Perhaps the most influential changes in journalism in the 1980s were a newfound competitiveness in the market caused by money, the advancement of cable television, and the deregulation of media during the Ronald Reagan administration.
Emerging America Story John Riley grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He had a very rough life as a young kid, his family was poor and consisted of a mom and dad and his brother. When he was only 6 years old his mother and older brother both died of cholera due to bad living conditions, leaving John and his dad Cliff the only two in the family. Cliff worked on the railroad and had served in the Confederate Army in the Civil War. John went to school up to the 3rd grade but had to get a job to support him and Cliff, he got a job as a street sweeper.

Animals should not be kept in captivity because the animals will suffer from boredom and stress, the population of wild animals decrease, and we are teaching people that keeping these animals locked up for our entertainment is acceptable.
