J.K Rowling presented Harry Potter with many conflicts (his fight with Voldemort, and him not having his parents) to develop him as a character; she did this to show how he overcame problems and became stronger. The character that overcame the hardest conflict was the king from "Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allan Poe. The king lost his wife to angels who were jealous ("Annabel Lee"). He was very sad because she died. He then became happy, and had gotten over her death because he knew that their love will always be good. Another character that overcame a hard conflict was the cops in "Tell-Tale Heart". The cops were given the conflict of going to a house were there was a creepy crazy guy and screams were heard; they had to figure out what happened ("Tell-Tale Heart"). They were just talking to him, and they didn't give in to any pressure. In the same story "Tell-Tale Heart", Poe create another character that overcame their small, but worthy conflict. The neighbors heard the screams of the old man and had to decide what to do. They were worried, but got through the scary thoughts and called the cops. They overcame the fear that they had. All of these characters faced their conflicts and got over them
