Chapter 1 The five aspects of a quest are: (a) a quester, (b) a place to go, (c) a stated reason to go there, (d) challenges and trials en route, and (e) a real reason to go there. A book that uses the aspects of a quest very nicely is the secret life of bees. (a) The quester in this story is a young girl named lily owens who fights with her father and does not have a mother because lily accidently shot her when she younger. (b) As the story goes on, lilys closest motherly figure Rosaleen, gets arrested. Lily then wanted to leave the little town and go to Tiburon, South Carolina, the name on the back of the items that Lily found which belonged to her mother. Foster was trying to get accross was that obstacles such as fences or walls serve as a barrier. These barriers can determine many things in a book. They could be good or bad, or even act as a type of suspense leading on the story. In the book Araby the fence that Mangan’s sister stood behind when the boy first saw her from a distance acted as a barrier. Although they were close to one another they couldn’t be together because the fence was there. They could not cross it and neither could their thoughts or feelings. The fence was there both mentally and physically. Since it was just a fence, there was still hope because it was conquerable. What I mean is that there is still a chance to talk to Mangan’s sister and the chance to see her once again, this gave the boy something to hope for or look forward to. Chapter 15 Flight in books can sometimes be one of the biggest symbols of freedom or escape. There are so many books and movies that come to my mind for this question. They also know that Harry got this scar when he had his first encounter with Lord Voldemort. Harry had the one thing that Lord Voldemort could not defeat. Harry stripped away all of Lord Voldemort’s power and strength. After doing this Harry Potter being the only one who can defeat the Dark lord strikes him down and puts an end to Lord Voldemort and the fears that came along with him. In Harry Potter this little lightning bolt of a scar is not only very meaningful and important to the whole plotline of the story, but very, very powerful and is the reason harry is able to stop Lord Voldemort. This power that the scar gives harry is the ‘Power of Being Loved’. The true love that Harrys mother had for him was the very reason that he was able to survive and defeat Lord Voldemort.
