The Diary of Anne Frank is a true story of a 13 year old Jewish girl during the holocaust while her family is in hiding. There are many versions of stories based on her diary which was found in the annex. You could read one from a book or watch a movie on her story. There are many similar scenes and actions that take place in each story. There are a variety of examples of similarities in the movie and the short story, here are just a few of them. Both the movie and the book have the same exact characters. The characters are on page 510, and the last part of the movie have the pictures of the characters and their names. Another example of a similarity is that Anne has to share a room with Mr. Dussel. He is a dentist from Amsterdam and he had no place to hide so he had to leave his fiance and live in the secret annex. Because of their sharing of the room, they don’t have the best friendship and fight a lot. The final example of similarity in both the story and movie of the Diary of Anne Frank is Peter and Anne fall in love. They always go up to the attic which is the top floor of the warehouse. One of the examples is when Mr. Vaan Dan stole the food and everyone was getting very mad at him. This was in the book, but not the movie. Mrs. Frank got very mad at him for this. Also, in the book it showed the scene of Mrs. Frank infuriating at Mr. Vaan Dan, but not in the movie. Anne wrote in her diary that she had never seen mama like this, she was always very quiet and discipline. The final example of differences from the movie and short story is from early in the story. It was when Margot went separate to the Annex from the Frank’s house in the movie, but not in the short story.
