Lee Child, the author of the famous Jack Reacher series, wrote the book for this essay, Die Trying. This book is as well a Jack Reacher novel. Child wrote this second Jack Reacher novel for the reader’s joy. The first was a success and the public wanted more. Lee Child’s theme for this book is mainly Conspiracy Theories and Government Distrust. All of which he depicts in the best way. Child writes in elegant form to introduce his story and keep it going throughout the book. The beginning of the story is set in Chicago, Illinois. And as a separate story is forced its way to Montana, the story left behind travels all over the country to find the story that is now set in Montana. Their kidnapees take them to a isolated and deserted town in Montana. The town is surrounded by terrain that keeps the rebels safe. These rebels are planning to start a revolution on July 5, their independence. And Holly Johnson is key in order to get the revolution starting. Even so, the adding of Jack Reacher is beginning to upset their plans. The topic of whether he should live or die is constantly debated during their time there. The leader of this is a persuasive, short and chubby man named Beau Borken. Beau is convinced that common conspiracy theories such as SDI technology and trackers placed in babies when their born. Beau has a hypnotizing presence on the men and women that are helping him in his revolution. They are convinced that “‘He’s got the documents. It’s not a secret at all. That’s why we’re here. Beau’s right, no doubt about it. He’s a smart guy’”, which allows Beau to lead them fearlessly (368). The problem is eventually resolved when Beau’s men are defeated and Reacher and Holly make it back with themselves to congratulate.
