When I read Holes I realized that Stanley Yanlnets is similar to Jess Aarons from Bridge to teribithea! I will compare and contrast Jesse Aarons from the book Bridge to Teribithea (author Katherine Paterson) and Stanley Yalnets from Holes ( author Louis Sachar.) Jesse Aarons and Stanley Yalnets while different in many ways share some similarities in their personalities. Firstly, Jesse and Stanley's family lives are extremely different. Jesse comes from a financially stable family. He has four sisters and two parents who care a lot for him. Stanley comes from a family with a history of bad luck, and his dad has been wrongfully accused of stealing. Stanley's family is always struggling to make it to the end, which puts a lot of pressure on him. He has no siblings and his relationship with his parents is not ideal. As Stanley reflects, "He was surprised that he had ever thought his father could help him. He had been too busy trying to dig his way out of his hole".
