At the start of the 1790s there was a disagreement on how the government should be run. The 3 people going at each other were Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison. Hamilton was on one side and Jefferson and Madison were on the other. They totally opposed each other's views. Thomas Jefferson wrote papers about Hamilton. “Hamilton was not only a monarchist, but in support of a monarchy based upon corruption.(Document 1) He is saying that Hamilton's government is based upon corruption. Saying that someone's ideas were corruption means that you disagree with them and hate them. Jefferson didn’t agree with anything Hamilton did.
