In 1754 the French & Indian War took place in many locations including Europe. India and North America. The French and Indian War, as it was referred to the colonies was the beginning of open hostiles between the colonies and Great Britain. England and France had been building toward conflict over domination in North America. William Pit saw the colonial conflicts as key to building a fast British empire. The French and Indian war was fought between the Atlantic Ocean. It was the only thing that separated the French and British. Great Britain had the thirteen colonies nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Appalachian Mountains as well as some holdings in Canada. There are many other places where the French and British fought.
