One thing that is different in the movie then the book is the Soc’s drive a blue mustang in the movie, but in the book the Soc’s drive a red corvair. Another thing that is different is the vacant lot in the movie is a dirt lot that is surrounded by trees, grass, and bushes with a rode that drives right by it. But in the book the vacant sounds like a old lot that was used for parking cars like at a school u got a parking lot for cars, so that's what i think of it when the story was talking about a vacant lot. In the book when the rumble went down the authors described it as a fight in the dark with gang against gang. For instance you get to know what Ponyboy looks like,on page one in the book it says “I have light brown hair almost red and greenish gray eyes.” You also get to know Cherry more. For example you get to find out her real name and hair color. On page 22 it says “my name’s Sheri, but I’m called Cherry because of my hair.” First the book has more events than the movie because in the book there was a court hearing.
The Outsiders has many differences between the book and the movie.
People always think one is better than the other, and this is why I think the book is better than the movie. Why the book seemed it had more events, and that some of the events in the movie didn’t match the book was by in the book they started on the corner of the street but in the movie it started with Ponyboy writing the theme. For example, in the book, only one person drowns Pony, but in the movie, three people drowned him. This is different because in the book Pony is being drowned at the water fountain by only one person. On the other hand in the movie Pony is getting drowned by three people instead of one like it is in the story. Another comparison between the book and the movie would be when Ponyboy goes to court and doesn’t testify in the book, but in the movie he does. These are different because in the book when Pony has to go to court for the murder of Bob he doesn’t testify in the movie when he goes to court he does testify.
The book told more details and made the important things pop out. The movie left out a lot of the little things that made a big difference overall. The book of The Outsiders and the movie of The Outsiders had several things in common, but there were also things left out from one that was in the other. In the book, it says that Dally’s hair was blonde, but in the movie it showed him with brown hair.
The movie and novel share similar qualities. For example, both feature all of the same characters. Ponyboy, Darry, and Sodapop are brothers.
Also Brain mother in the book got caught at the Mall kissing. In the movie he caught his mom kissing under a tree. In the movie he flew the plane straight into the water and in the book he had made a decision to fly in the water or keep flying. Also in the movie he got attacked by a Bear but in the book he got attacked by a moose. That’s why I said the book and the movie is different.
The intensity, the actions, the personalities in the movie was much different than in the book. The book explained all of these a bit more than the movie in a better way. The one reason why character development is better in the book is probably because the actors for the Outsiders had mediocre acting skills, and the reason for that might be that the actors were all young in the career in
The first difference I saw between the two is the characters. In the book Percy and Annabeth were 12 years old, and Percy was in middle school. In the book, they were 16 years old and in high school. The age difference changed their personalities. For example, Grover was this scrawny awkward kid, but In the movie he is completely different.

Our thoughts on these particular aspects are very diverse as the universe is. Many things have been either left out or diminished from the movie, which makes it less interesting as the suspense lessens as you have finished reading the book. They were the same because Johnny kills a man, they cut their, there was the movie scene, and Johnny and Ponyboy went to the church. Some of the differences is when Darry slaps Ponyboy but in the movie he pushes him, Johnny doesn't bring a lot of food in the book but does in the movie he does, when Johnny killed the man it was more described but it wasn't in the movie, and Johnny says he wants to kill himself in the movie.
