Some of the biggest lies and misconceptions in this world is that if you are born into religion then you will die following it. Well for most people this is the case but there are still people who choose to follow a different religion, one such example occurs in Life of Pi, where Pi however, does not leave his religion he follows 2 more , not just any 2 but the 2 biggest religions in the world, christianity and islam. In reality however you cannot follow three religions at once this is just absurdity, there's differences in all of them, but chooses to look at the similarities of all the religions, which is god, and when the religious figures found out about this they had a huge argument his hindu teacher said that “pi was born a hindu lives a hindu and shall die a hindu” they were simply arguing with each other pointing out flaws in each others religions, then they confronted Pi and told him to choose a religion ,Pi responded saying that “all religions are true” and that he …show more content…

Every time one of his classmates saw him they would say “it'sPissing patel”. This harassment and mental abuse leads to go searching for a saviour someone to guide him, someone to help him get through his tough times, this is how he finds islam and christianity. He becomes so devoted and begins treasuring his religion and eventually makes his father buy him a prayer matt. We see that Pi is looking at religion idealistically, and he is only focused on one thing which is god the one similarity between all these religions. ThroughPi’s actions we can see that Yann suggests that an individual's beliefs and truths can constantly be changing based off their experiences, and the difficulties they encounter.
