In, A Midsummer's Night, by William Shakespeare, he demonstrates what it is like to be in love. Love is an effective trait of shakespearean language. These kinds of love can be shown in different, ambiguous ways. Shakespeare's talent is proven through the differentiation of his characters. He creates different personalities within each character that have a deep impact on the story. With every couple their is a different story, no love story is the same. Shakespeare proves this by covering the three types of love.
Theseus and Hippolyta demonstrate mature love. These two are characterized as king and queen, giving them experience with this. The kind of love that doesn't show enough dramatic attraction but, holds a vigourous relationship throughout their time. Theseus vows to Hippolyta, “ Hippolyta, I woo’d thee with my sword and on thy love doing thee injuries, but I will wed thee in another key, with pomp, with triumph, and with revealing.” Theseus uses force and perseverance to win over Hippolyta's heart. Hermia and Lysander demonstrate a love that could never be.
