I agree that the discrimination and persecution against the Rohingya has to stop immediately. This is the root cause of the Rohingya refugee crisis, and this problem has to be tackled quickly in order to prevent the loss of lives of more innocent Rohingya. However, looking at it from the receiving countries ' point of view, I disagree of this as a short term strategy, as there are just way too many refugees to save. Just between January to March this year, an estimated 25,000 Rohingya refugees tried to escape to their neighboring countries (UNHCR, 2015). Adding together all the other refugees, each country would have to help thousands of refugees. And since this problem has been going on for years and years, each neighboring country would definitely have already accepted a large flow of refugees. Furthermore, the neighboring and receiving countries such as Malaysia, Thailand and Bangladesh which have taken in, and are continuing to take in the bulk of the Rohingya refugees, are developing countries, and accepting these refugees into their countries is like adding burdens of the respective governments ' shoulders, and these countries will soon be not able to help the refugees due to lack of resources. Although not helping to take in and save these refugees may seem inhumane in the UNHCR 's point of view, but we have to consider that these countries really cannot afford to help these refugees much. Furthermore, their first priority is to help their own country first, and not the citizens of another country
