Annie Jean Easley was born April 23, 1933 to Mary Melvina Hoover and Samuel Bird Easley, in Birmingham Alabama. She was raised, along with her older brother, by a single mom. Annie attended schools in Birmingham and graduated high school valedictorian of her class. Throughout high school Annie wanted to be a nurse because she thought that the only careers that were open to African American women at the time were nursing and teaching and she definitely did not want to teach so she settled on being a nurse but as she studied in high school she began thinking about becoming a pharmacist.
Ethel Merman who was born in 1908 as (Ethel Agnes Zimmerman) was an american actress and singer from Astoria , New York . Though Ethel was not trained in music many said she could“ belt out a song like no one else ” , many songwriters still sought out Ethel’s music knowing she was untrained such as Irving Berlin and Cole Porter who was known as major songwriters of the early 1900’s . Ethel is remembered for her great appearances in many great musicals . She started her career by singing at private parties and nightclubs . She was hired as a torch singer at Les Ambassadeurs and from there she began to gain publicity .
Few producers throughout the years have been as influential as Phil Spector was to rock music. The techniques he created and popularized in the music he wrote changed both rock music and the way it was recorded. These techniques include doubling and reverbing, both of which contributed to his famous “wall of sound”. Though Phil Spector produced many songs performed by many different artists, there are some which offer stellar representations of the musical developments he made. James went through a lot and overcame even more things to get to where she was. She started her career at a very young age and then everything began building by itself. It is believed that it was first celebrated by the Aztecs and Mayans and was adapted by the Spanish Catholics that conquered South America. The ancient Mexicans, or Aztecs, had many ceremonies to mark passages through the stages of life. This ritual emphasizes the young girls journey into womanhood and to announce her new social role to the entire community.

El Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead), a Mexican celebration, is a day to celebrate, remember and prepare special foods in honor of those who have departed. On this day in Mexico, the streets near the cemeteries are filled with decorations of papel picado, flowers, candy Calaveras, and parades. It is believed that the spirit of the dead visit their families on October 31 leave on November 2. In order to celebrate, the families make altars and place ofrendas of food such as pan de muertos baked in shapes of skulls and figures, candles, incense, yellow marigolds known as cempazuchitl (also spelled zempasuchil) and most importantly a photo of the departed soul are placed on the altar.

I bet you didn’t, the first cheerleader’s name was Johnny Campbell; he decided that one day that he wanted to lead chants at the University of Minnesota’s football game. He then created a whole team that would help him lead the crowd at different University of Minnesota sports games. Then, on November 2, 1898, Johnny Campbell was recognized to be the world’s first official cheerleader.
