The banana represents Jordan’s deep appreciation for her time adventuring and escaping from the world with Dog Women. While they were on their search to find the banana, this new idea of adventure and freedom is introduced to Jordan. The banana marked the first time Jordan ever set sail, and more importantly, she shared this memory with Dog Women. The relationship ship between Dog Women and Jordan is bound together by their passions for adventuring. After Dog Women and Jordan saw the banana, Jordan took pride in the experience they shared, as he considers that moment special and quite integral to his life. Unlike the normal man who is brave and “manly”, Jordan is gentle, romantic; someone romantic enough to take Dog Woman to admire the sun rising over the water. Jordan appreciates his time with Dog Women adventuring, something the common man did not relate to. When Jordan admitted his fear of confined places, he separated himself from the common man, for nobody accepted that concept. In addition, Jordan differentiated himself by speaking about his feelings and emotions. With the banana in mind, Jordan appreciates love, friendship, and adventure, separating himself from the other men who lack feelings. With his love for Dog Woman in mind, I felt the following scene perfectly embodied Jordan. “Jordan told me to put on my best clothes for our voyage. I did so, and a plumed hat that sat on my head as a bird sit in its nest. He gave me a comfortable seat and asked me 10 times whether or not I was warm enough. I was warm. I was seeing the world” (Page 8). This scene depicts the genuine interest Jordan had for Dog Women, as well as his great passion for spending time adventuring with Dog Women. Jordan has feelings, emotions, and a deep interest in adventuring, and simply wants to explore. Jordan wants to go sail, hike, etc. with Dog Women and create memories. Jordan does not care
