The adults in Salem, Oregon in Stephen Karam’s Speech & Debate had good reason to treat the teens as if they were children. If Diwata, Solomon, and Howie were an accurate representation of the other students at the school, it is no wonder that the parents, teachers, and school board sought to exercise an abundance of control and provide too much guidance in their lives. The three teens dealt with “grown-up” issues throughout the play, but they tried to tackle them in characteristically childish ways. In the opening scene of the play, viewers are introduced to Howie, an openly gay 18-year-old.
Composers have the ability to influence how we the audience views and responds to characters and issues. Through viewing and analysing ‘The Shoe Horn Sonata’ by John Misto and ‘Saving Private Ryan’ directed by Steven Spielberg, it is obvious that composers have the ability to impact and influence our views on characters and issues that occur. Shoe Horn Sonata and Saving Private Ryan were set in the same context of World War 2. John Misto’s Shoe Horn Sonata takes place during the war against Japan, the play focus on the lives of two women Bridie and Sheila who have been captured by the Japanese to become (POW) prisoners of war. John Misto’s play was based on real accounts from POWs, the play was to commemorate the female POWS who story was unheard of and to give an insight to the audience into what the POWs had to endure while under the japanese rule.

The play Dog Act is an unconventional play written in a post-apocalyptic setting during which the main characters Zetta and Dog are on an adventure to see "China," a famous region in the world at the time of the play. Liz Duffy Adams, the playwright, wrote the play and relayed her blueprints, the script, to directors Mandy Fox and Joe Kopyt, who worked with designers to create and present a world of their own imagination based on Adams ' script. The unique interpretation included eccentric costumes for each character, bold yet subtle implications toward sexuality and gender, as well the moving storylines executed well by the actors. The costumes a character wears are often indicative of their personality, class, and their overall characterization.
Tragedy struck tonight in Washington DC ending with 2 murders and killers out on the loose. Tonight Abraham Lincoln, Mrs. Lincoln, Henry Rathbone, and his wife all attended the following play “Our American Cousin” written by Laura Keene. 1. Mr. Burns presents a unique take on the field of acting. During the first act, there was a closed off and often quiet tone to the play. The characters are all spaced out and separated even as their common conversation is being given. The only time they come closer together figuratively and literally is when they’re feeling threatened.
The article “High-Jinks: Shoot-Out” by Guy Martin, researches the story of several New York High Schools, participating in an end of year activity that is involved with mediocre violence, made for kids to have some fun with their town, and their classmates. These role playing games are very beneficial for students to participate in, because they teach kids that team work, and extraordinary skills are needed to “survive”. Role playing games with simulated violence are diverting for kids, because they teach and allow kids to be boisterous. The game allows the students to plan, organize, and concoct a plan, for a game that involves nearly the whole city and school. As seniors in highschool prepare for graduation and adulthood, this game gives them the freedom to be kids again.
Two great stories about a sailor trying to survive a world class hunter and a western town marshal trying to take on a gang alone are actually very interesting to compare. High Noon, written by Carl Foreman, is a movie about Will Kane, a marshal in the Wild West who is abandoned by his town when they find out Frank Miller is coming back to town. “The Most Dangerous Game,” by Richard Connell, is a story about a sailor who falls into the trap of a General who kills men for sport. He is forced to play his game or possibly get tortured, and chooses to take his chances with the game. High Noon and “The Most Dangerous Game” are two very different stories, however you will find that there are many similarities between the stories’ protagonists and settings.
Theatre going experience Wonder of the world play, is a reflection of life and relationship which sometimes does not follow a smooth path. There are bumps and rough edges along the way, but these does not stop us to continue living, instead we tried to discover what is beyond. This play is very entertaining and hilarious at times. Rainsford gets scared because somehow Zaroff got in the room. “I just came here to say congratulations, you won the game.” Rainsford seems surprised and he said, “Thank you” Zaroff said “Don’t seem so surprised.” Rainsford wanted to know why he’s still here. Zaroff wouldn’t leave the room it seems like he was waiting for something it made me very suspicious, so I keep an eye out for anything.

Before the beginning of “The Play That Goes Wrong,” I’ve noticed that actors and crew members were doing last minute touch ups with the stage and wandering around the aisles, looking for their “dog.” Initially, I was very confused about what was going on and what “dog” they were referring to. However, I come to realize that it
