From 1966 to 1981 San Antonio, Texas, was a segregated city ruled by Anglos and important business people. The people who lived in the west and south sides of this city fell under housing. Gangs were really popular and broke out frequently. Then farm workers broke out in the strike and marched through the city’s streets forming a movement to get rid of the Anglos who took advantage of them. David Montejano, in this book, uses sources that are not open to anyone unless asked for.
White people have always been the superior ethnicity with better lifes, jobs, and opportunities. One would think in a majority-minority state like Texas, where the majority of the population is made out of minorities, it would be an area controlled by minorities and not the white supremacist. In David Montejano’s story, “Quixote’s Soldiers, A Local History of the Chicano Movement,” he goes into depth of how the Mexican Americans in San Antonio created a Chicano movement that began to change the status quo and has impacted the culture today. Quixote’s Soldier’s is a well written narrative in which Montejano is able to prove his points by his style of writing and interpretation, by the numerous sources he acquires, and by… Quixote’s Soldier’s

In the first chapter, Mayorga-Gallo examines multicultural neighborhoods and their experiences, “This book unpacks the meanings white and non-white residents attach to this multiethnic space and their experiences within it” (Mayorga-Gallo 4). She unpacks interracial relationships in multiethnic neighborhoods by studying an annual picnic in a typical multiethnic neighborhood in North Carolina called Creekridge Park. She guides us (the readers) through the experiences of Black, White, and Latino/a residents. She also includes racial, gender, and age demographic charts to inform the reader. She included demographics to make a point that although neighborhoods are integrated, it does not necessarily mean that that will increase positive interracial relations.
I chose the movie Cesar Chavez because is about an labor organizer and activist man of the civil rights. Scene ---In 1965 many grape farm workers march 300 miles from Delano, California to Sacramento. Demanding labor rights for farm workers and increasing their wages and to improve their work place conditions. Mexicans and Philippine’s got united and they strike for five years until they got to sing a contract were The scene that I choose is when growers were telling the workers in the vine yards that anyone that follow the strike will stop working there and they were not going to be higher from anybody else and workers were really afraid to strike against the growers.

The story, up through the climax, displays the consequences of irrational actions. “The winged old man is viewed as an object” by the community as they search to find an explanation for his existence (Pelayo 84). First trying to rid the old man at sea, Elisenda and Pelayo attempt to act on their irrational ideas. They then involve the neighbor woman, priest, and village people to solve this confusing situation (Marquez #). None of their actions are effective as they are irrational, uncomprehensive thoughts.
It revolves around the flight of the princess to escape the awful marriage to his father (Perrault, 1977). Charles Perrault uses the princess’ character to reveal the major themes of overcoming evil, child abuse and incest in the story. Perrault also brings out the moral that it is better to encounter awful challenges in life than to fail in one’s duty. He shows that although the virtue may seem unrealistic, it can always triumph. The author uses various literary devices to reveal the various morals of the story.
