It is as if all the controversies that plagued his presidency allowed his accomplishments to be more noticeable and thus more widely aware by the American public. Regarding Bush junior, Obama, and Trump you were able to provide a quick and efficient summary as to why each president failed in the phenomenon of the presidential spectacle. I like the idea that you brought up about Obama not selling himself that well. It is quite interesting because Obama was a massive nerd and geek something that many Americans could have related to during his time as president. Yet he decided to never make a spectacle out of that despite the relatability he could have generated with the American people.
presidency. Although he is unable to take advantage of the power of the modern presidency, because it seemed as though he did not want it, had to deal with circumstances out of his capacity, and his personality the people believed was not presidential. Due to his ability to win the elections without his party leaders, he did not feel the need to build a relationship with them and his staff, coming from his campaign did not have experience in Washington resulted in him failing in Congress during his first months as president. During the campaign, his informality helped him win the Democratic bid and the presidency, but it turned out to be a deterrent while governing. The Press Corp began treating his unpretentious manner as an expression
His choice of terms, and how he said what he needed to say was very moving. Lastly, memory… having been elected president I'm 100% sure that
Some of the traits that had the most impact on who he was a president included being quick tempered, fearless, strong willed, strict, loyal, and tough.
community too”, which further promotes Malcolm X’s heroism because it represents him as wanting the best for all people, even non-blacks. This is the quality of a hero. The source is useful because it shows how a big portion of the black community viewed Malcolm X and his connections with the CRM and BP, but it is also less reliable because it is very biased in favour of black resistance. The article is especially useful because it is a primary source, from the actual time of the events in its content. (SOURCE D)
The media is a major source of information for voters. Voters depend on the media to make their decision on who to support and vote for. As much trouble as the media causes, they play a major role in our political system. The American President accurately depicts the political process.
The media affected this year's election by throwing up unnecessary/personal things about both candidates. It then in turn got to everyone in the world and every had their own opinion on each of the candidates. So, the media affected the amount of votes that each candidate would receive and also their chance to become
(Brands 2016, 299), he was politically irresistible. The president knew how to use this to his advantage and made sure that the public knew he was fit to be the leader of the country. This must have put many Americans at ease, knowing the president was resilient and bounced back from such a tragedy. Letters and calls were just piling up, all to express positive raves about the president. This ultimately did not last
By showing his audience that even though his term is coming to an end, he still cares for the future of the United States of
The article “Mind Over Mass Media”, written by Professor Steven Pinker, describes the impact of media on human lives and brains. Pinker illustrates the benefits people gain from using the worlds quickly increasing technology and media. Pinker suggests that today’s technology such as, PowerPoint, Google, and other forms of social media can actually enhance and bring more intelligence to the mind, instead of being detrimental. Critics believe that the many different forms of media can lower intelligence. However, Pinker declares that scientists are using all of this technology everyone else is using, and are still discovering new things.
One of the greatest ways to capture someone’s attention is through art. In its magnitude it is thought provoking, inspiring, depressing and more. The artist can illuminate any kind of emotion in their work and that is a reason as to why it can be so powerful. Art has a long line of history dating back thousands of centuries back, and each era or renaissance helps develop art in some form or fashion. The Italian Renaissance had a big impact on art as well as scientific developments and philosophy.
In America, Media bias is everywhere, in the United States all the information that an average American received through everyday sources, the news was most likely processed through the media and told through a biased point of view, when the media gets their hands on news if it is important then it probably won’t be talked about or downplayed no matter the source like in the newspaper, radio, television, movies, as well as other outlets that the media uses, the media only seems to share the news that they find interesting, even then the media would most likely have changed the story, in what they say is just tweaked news, what actually happened and what really happened would be two different stories, also the story would be told from one person
Society expect to be constantly entertained; they have become so concerned with things such as who the latest star is dating, scandals, or dumb people doing rather idiotic things. Much of society have been consumed in their personal instant gratification and what makes them “happy”. When on an off chance that news does show things that are serious and impactful(not necessarily positive things that is happening in the world) people have become so numb that the best they could do is feel sympathetic and at worst continue on with their day. The other part of the problem is that those behind what is being published and shown on the news media have been absorbed in their avarice nature, whatever allows them to make as much profit they do. “Writing thousands of hours of coverage from what could have been summarized in a couple of minutes every few weeks, a new rhetorical strategy was developed, or-let’s be generous-evolved”(6), Saunders describes the new formula formed by mass news firms that would yield the most profit.
I have come to realize that the media has always sided what was popular to the public. Though in some cases I’m sure there have been some influencing through monetary means and under the table deals. Nonetheless the media actually served as a counter argument to my thoughts and actually helped me remembered in why I vote for what I vote for. As you can see from most of the media in the last 6 years it has served towards democrats and more government interference. Now don’t get me wrong things like the patriot act are necessary for the safety of our nations
The media will pick and choose which topics to discuss according to the viewer’s ratings. The news media represent the news in a manner that will leave people coming back for more. They choose carefully what they want to report and by doing so they do not spread lies within the articles but what they choose not to tell the audience. The media shares what the people
