Our perceptions change with our evolving experiences, and in a dynamic and fast-changing world, the distinctively visual offers a unique insight into how we discover and form our identities. Ang Lee’s 2000 Chinese-American martial arts film ‘Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon’, explores many manifestations of the distinctly visual in shaping our perceptions and values through the prism of Confucian, Daoist and other philosophies and cultures. Likewise, Mark Osborne’s animated short film, visually targets a range of audiences, to also explore freedom of expression in the pursuit of happiness. Thus while in vastly different mediums, both texts employ an array of visual techniques, illustrating the powerful effects of the distinctively visual to convey

There are many instances where biology is both correctly and incorrectly displayed in the media. Through the use of animation movies mostly, biologists are able to spread awareness of important problems occurring in both the ocean and on land that effect animals and their habitats. The movie A Turtle’s Tale explores the life cycle of sea turtles; from when they are first born and the difficulties they face getting to the ocean to when they lay their own eggs. A Turtle’s Tale shows Sammy, a hatchling who travels the sea in search of his love, which shows how a turtle responds to difficulties in the ocean.
Lion, directed by Garth Davis, is a compelling interpretation of a remarkable true story of Saroo Brierley, lost as a child and reunited with his family 25 years later. Throughout Davis explores the unique circumstances under which Saroo is separated and reconnected with his family and his journey along the way. At some points of the film, I was confronted by how Saroo, a five-year-old boy, expertely navigates, with great instinct and genuine innocence, through an extended, yet life threatening ride. To put it in other words, Lion is a journey that grabs you entirely; whether you want it or not, and you are involved in each and every scene. I instantly fell in love with the connection and relationship between Saroo and his older brother

As time went on, older and younger students joined in while others, the quiet and likewise bullied, just ignored what went on. Bullying has been named an “emerging public health issue requiring intervention” (Ansary, Elias, Greene, & Green, 2015, p. 27). As a major problem in schools around the world, the issue of bullying must be addressed in order to keep students physically and emotionally safe. The act of bullying not only affects the well-being of the person being targeted, but it also affects the rest of the school community too. It can be difficult for teachers, principals, and superintendents to make an ethical decision about what to do when bullying occurs because there are misunderstandings about what bullying is, leading to the improper identification of situations.

Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.
Bullying is defined as repeated oppression, physical or psychological of a less powerful individual by a more powerful individual, people or group. It consists of three main types of abuse which are physical, verbal and emotional. Bullying in schools is a common and worldwide spread problem that can have critical and negative implications on the general school climate as well as on the right of students to study in a safe and secure environment without fear. Many people believe that bullying is part of life, happens in all schools and so it’s not an issue to worry about and that it lets individuals know what life is all about as it toughens them but in reality bullying is a detrimental problem that affects most school going children and teenagers physically, emotionally and socially.
