Task 1 For my classics project, I choose the book “The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde” as my classic. The book is written by the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson who lived from 1850 to 1894, becoming only 44 years old . The book is, as the title says, about a strange case including Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde which are the main characters. The book starts with Mr. Enfield telling his friend Mr. Utterson a sad story. The story is about a man that knocked down a little girl. The brutal man who did this, said that he could pay a lot of money in return. The man came back with a check from Dr. Jekyll’s bank account. The man who did all this was Mr. Hyde. Mr. Utterson was Mr. Hyde’s lawyer and he wanted to find out what really happened …show more content…
The point of this project was to select a classic and read it, so it was important that the book I choose was indeed a classic. People did recommend this book for me and said that it was a good classic and by looking at the front page I got interested . The book caught my interest and it was by a famous author who had written other good classics. The whole process by getting a book wasn’t a big deal. I sort of got the first and best book I found, asked someone who knew their books if it was any good and took it. Task 2A I have always been told by my parents and by many of my teachers that I should read books often. But why should I need to read a book every month or so? Is it really any point in it or is it just pointless? In this text, I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of reading books . I used to read books quit often before. Now a days I haven’t read a book in ages. I never find the time or energy to read. I feel like I always have something better to do, if its school or homework, hanging out with friends and most importantly football. When I’m done with all this, and I have some time in the evening, I just don’t have the energy to sit down and start reading a book. So, what is it that I’m really missing out
