The book Crank by Ellen Hopkins, is a fictional book that works the connect to those that have been affected or experienced any type of drug addiction,and gives insight into how, those who live on drugs. This book tells a fictional story but reflects real life situations. Kristina, has a seemingly perfect life until she meets her weakness crank, which is also known as meth. Crank then becomes an addictions. Around 64% of high school students do drugs. Fiction should not be banned because it allows the reader to be able to connect the stories to their own bn personal life, creating the sense that they are not alone.

Hopkins story revolves around the main character Kristina, who is a junior. She has many friends,gets good grades and lives in a stable home. Her life changes for the worst when she visits her dad for three weeks over summer. She is introduced to her first addictions, Adam and crank. With her dad working most of the time, she turns to her dads neighbor, adam, for company. With every interaction she had to adam her alto ego comes out who she names Bree. As her addiction to crank becomes more serious. she starts to fall in love with adam. As her stay with her dads becomes to an end she's not quite sure about anything anymore. She heads back home, clueless of who she has become. She struggles with trying to reconnect with her past friends and family. …show more content…

About 64% of high school students have stated that they have come into contact with drugs. An drug addiction can take over your life the minute you do it. A lot of people do not have self control,which then Leads them to their addiction. Drug addictions maybe be easy to start, but not finish. Once people stop and try to get better, they soon break and a certain point. Relapsing is the hardest part, the drug is out of your system and many just want to have a little bit more and so, the cycle starts back up. Drugs are not something to be taking
