Opportunity: An area of opportunity for the Dubbo store would local promotions at a local level, such as newspaper or radio. In a rural community, newspapers are still a part of everyday life and would reach market that wouldn’t be reach otherwise.
Previously in the store we have strongly highlighted our least expensive products, now that our store has further developed there is opportunity to push our best products to the front. This would increase our profit margin.

Threats:
Dubbo several other retails in town that can be considered a threat to Target. Big W, Myer and Best and Less would be the best contenders for Target customers in the area. In the Dubbo store we combat other retailers with strong visual merchandising and excellent customer service. Being a smaller city, the town has a strong sense of community. This means that Target Dubbo’s customer service skills need to be leagues above the others. Word of mouth is strong, therefore any negativity spreads through the community and with limited clientele the store cannot afford to lose customers to another business. In order to achieve our goal of having the departments fully moved and relayed within two weeks the leadership will have strong communication between themselves and the team. A detailed plan will be created with set, achievable goals for each night. If the goals for the move itself were not being met, the leadership team would need to evaluate each nights progress and see where we were falling behind. If it was a matter of the team not performing, evaluations would need to be carried out individually on each person to identify areas of opportunity.
