In the poem titled “the great electrical revelotion” by ken Mitchell, I found this story in particular very interesting because, coming from a third world country, such practices are fairly normal. In the sense that when the access to -a life force such electricity is hindered or disconnected by the power authority or in some cases the TV cable is disconnected, individuals still find a solution to this issues my bypassing the normal connection and stealing free electricity or cable from the distribution tower. This passage by ken Mitchell, narrates the life of ken as a young boy leaving with his relatives in Montreal then travelling to moose jaw, this poem centers around the period of time where the Canadian economy was in a depression, and as with every depression there is a

The state government's approach on Australia’s energy policy has provoked much debate in recent media. The Australian opinion piece, titled ‘Energy policy has become a racket and the madness must stop’ (November 7, 2016) was written by an Australian economist, Judith Sloan, in response to this debate. Sloan presents a mocking and skeptical tone where she argues that ‘it’s time for the federal government to intervene to stop this madness’. She attacks the Australian state governments by portraying its management techniques which are contrary to her ideals as foolish, uncaring and deceitful. This creates distrust of this section of the government in the audience and further supports her view by using evidence and appeals to hip pocket nerve to gain approval of ‘the Australian taxpayer’.
The first step is to establish the terms of the agreement signed by the people who sold their houses to Salt Lick Partnership. It is apparent that none of the sellers contacted a lawyer during the sale of their properties, and this reveals that they were quite vulnerable to terms that did not favor their position. However, it is lawful for sellers to sign property sale agreements without having to contact a lawyer, as long as the buyer provides all the legal information and follows due process in purchasing the property. The main reason for looking into the documents involved in the transaction is to look at loopholes that might render the entire deal illegal. If the purchasing lawyer had tailored the agreement in a manner that leaves the sellers vulnerable and illegally placed at a disadvantage, it will be possible to file a case that will reverse the terms or compel Salt Lick Partnership to offer better terms.

Mountaintop removal mining is a complex issue while being totally destructive in almost every aspect. The coal mined does not justify destroying mountains that formed nearly 480 million years and then completing artificial reclamation that cannot replace or due justice for what was lost during the destruction. The monetary gain from mining does not compensate for the destruction and the health effects of the environment and people. Massey Energy is inadvertently influencing the deterioration of the local lives, and treating them as a lesser people because a greater amount of people are being benefited from the mining (Holcomb).

The weather market follows its roots to deregulation of the U.S. energy industry. Variability in weather conditions perceived as one of the most vital factors that affect energy expenditure; however, the effects of inconstant seasonal weather patterns had previously been incorporated and operated within a regulated, monopoly environment. With deregulation, the various shareholders in the manner of producing, marketing, and delivering energy to U.S. households and corporations were left to confront weather as a new and significant risk to their bottom line. New pathfinders in the energy market traders Aquila, Koch, Enron, and Industries conceived of and executed the first weather derivative transactions in 1997. The first deals were all determined
It emphasizes a positive signal that this growth will be less energy-intensive than it used to be and that the growth ratio would have been even greater, if not for energy efficiency measures. The report further provides a positive outlook for renewables. It projects that renewable energy sources will account for nearly half of the global increase in power generation to 2040 and will overtake coal as the leading source of electricity. The largest share of growth in renewable energy generation can be attributed to wind power (34%), followed by hydropower (30%), and solar technologies (18%).
