Dwight D. Eisenhower was born in the year of 1890. Before being president, he was the U.S. Army chief of staff and commander. Eisenhower had many years of military experience. He was elected as president in 1952 and served until 1961. He became the 34th President of the United States. Eisenhower accomplished so much during his years serving as President. For example he created the U.S Information Agency, supported Interstate Highway Systems and he got Alaska and Hawaii to be states. However, he then decided to retire in the year of 1961 and died eight years later. Eisenhower’s Farewell speech was broadcasted on national television and everyone heard what Eisenhower had to say. Most people were shocked by some of the things he spoke about.
